The Brewers didn't like what Mr. Met had to say after beating them Saturday in Milwaukee:

''In Cincinnati, they're better hitters than in Milwaukee,'' he said. ''I don't say that the Milwaukee Brewers are nothing, but the offense of the Cincinnati Reds is better.''

While there is no reason to say such a thing in the first week of April, it is important to remember that Mr. Met is the fourth craziest person from Venezuela - which is like being the fourth fattest person from Milwaukee. A really big deal.

(I can write that because I'm in such good shape, by the way. I work out once a year, no matter the weather.)

Anyway, it particularly upset Rickie Weeks:

''He's full of [it] anyway. You can't believe a word that man says. But that [stuff] happens. He pitched good, but we'll see what happens next time.''

For the record, Weeks has a .294 average against Mr. Met over his career, with one home run, three RBIs and six strikeouts in 17 at-bats.
