Here's your daily dose of Fukudome bull squash. It seems as though the Padres feel like they have a chance.

Wrigleyville is right...I'm pretty much having trouble walking around the office because of my embarrassing bulger for my man K-Fuk. Look, I gave out all his numbers and WV's right on the angle that I, too, haven't seen a single Japanese baseball game and I have no idea what the competition is like. All I have to go on is the American success of phenoms like Hideki Matsui and Ichiro Suzuki, and I know that pitchers like Takashi Saito and Daisuke Matsuzaka apparently came from the same pool of competition.

I do know this one thing, though. The Cubs need help in the outfield. As much as I like Matt Murton as a team mascot, he's just not the complete player the Cubs need in their lineup right now. Fukudome gets on base, hits for a high average, and more importantly, hits for an even higher average with runners in scoring position. It seems as though he's a fundamentally sound player. Notice, I said "seems." I don't know about the rest of ya's, but I'd kill for some Fukudome right about next season.
