Speaking Of Blowing 5-0 Leads...

Some mocked Wrigleyville23 for making too big of a deal out of Aramis's walkoff home run against the Brewers on June 29 (one month ago today; seems the Brewers have trouble with 5-0 leads on the 29ths of months).

But let's look at what has happened since then:

Going into the June 29 game, the Brewers were 46-32 and 7.5 games ahead of the Cubs and 10.5 games ahead of the Cardinals.

Since then (and including the June 29 game), the Brewers are 11-17, the Cubs are 17-9 and the Cardinals are 15-12. Milwaukee's lead has shrunk to half a game over the Cubs and 6 games over the Cardinals.

Think the Ramirez homer wasn't a turning point?

Consider: The Brewers had won 8 of 9 and 12 of 14 going into the June 29 game. Since then, they're 6 games under .500 and have given up 7 games in the standings.

That indeed was a big, big home run.
