Time For Cedeno To Go (Again)

Unless something changes significantly, the poll at the right will demonstrate that Cubs fans would have preferred Ron Santo and Ronnie Woo Woo Wickers being called up over Ronny Cedeno. I imagine they would have preferred Ron Paul, too, but he was left off the poll because I don't want his kooky supporters overruning our good site here. And you know what? The voters are right. Wickers, Santo and maybe even Paul all would have demonstrated better sense than Cedeno did in the bottom of the fifth inning tonight. Let's recap: Cole Hamels has been dominating the Cubs all night, until he suddenly goes a bit wild - giving up two walks in the fifth. Lou decides at the last moment to pinch hit for Ted Lilly, even though he doesn't have a pitcher getting loose in the bullpen. So, in a lapse of terrible judgment, he sends in Cedeno, who promptly swings at the first pitch and pops out. After Hamels has walked two. While no pitcher is ready to come in. Thanks for adding value today, Ronny.
