Was Aramis Ramirez's ninth-inning walkoff homer the biggest June home run in a generation for the Cubs? We won't know for sure until September (or Sunday), of course, but... Ramirez's homer came 23 years and six days after Ryne Sandberg's famous two homers off of Bruce Sutter at Wrigley. That game was a momentum builder for the eventual NL East champion Cubs - a game that was on national television against the hated Cardinals. It defined Sandberg in his MVP season and even his career. But has there been any bigger since then? Perhaps one of the 20 that Sammy hit in June 1998. The Cubs went on to the playoffs that year, but they were nothing more than a fart in the wind in the postseason. Were there any big ones in 2003? Ultimately, it could mean nothing. Or ...
