After watching baseball drag the Expos relocation to Washington out over eleventy-nine years, it is no surprise to see Bud Selig saying the Cubs sale will dawdle into next season. No sense in getting a new owner in place to let him/her/them try to make the Cubs competitive.
But perhaps the Cubs can use this as incentive - much like the Cleveland Indians did in Major League, as they removed a piece of clothing from a picture of the hot evil owner with each win until she was nude.

The Cubs should do the same, only with Bud Selig. But they should start with him naked and they could cover him up bit by bit with each win.

Now that's incentive. They could win 120 games.

(With this post, by the way, I've cornered the market on "Bud Selig" and "nude" Google searches.)
