New England Patriots, Cheaters, 3.0
Written by wrigleyville

Just because the smuggidity of their fans bothers me so, I'd like to revisit the cheaters cheaters pumpkin eaters that are the New England Patriots (the league now believes they cheated, by the way).

It was one thing for Rodney Harrison to fess up to using HGH. It happens. Harrison is an individual, and he undoubtedly is not the only one in the league who makes himself look that way by less than natural means. He fessed up and is being punished. Fine.

Instead, it's the institutional cheating by the Patriots in this latest episode that is bothersome. It clearly was sanctioned by team officials (the hooded one). It clearly was systematic. It clearly was in stark violation of a league edict to clean up the game.

Why else would they have a guy (Matt Estrella) on their sidelines videotaping signals from the other team? Undoubtedly, Mr. Estrella wasn't some rogue videotaper off acting on his own. And, again, this wasn't new. The Packers kicked Estrella out of Lambeau Field last November for the same reason. And there is no way they started cheating simply to beat the Chad Pennington-led New York Jets.

As for punishment? They should go to the penalty box and feel shame.
