It's Okay...I Still Heart You, Lolo

If you missed any of the Olympics action last night, Lolo Jones competed in the final heat of the 100 M hurdles. She stumbled out of the blocks, but quickly caught up to the the competition after the first hurdle. The next seven hurdles were damn near flawless, as Lolo stretched her lead and headed for gold. Until hurdle 9...where her front right leg clipped the damn thing and she stumbled to a seventh place finish. I don't claim to be an Olympic aficianado, but watching the LSU alum stumble like that after kicking the asses of the other ladies was really heartbreaking. I have to give her credit for giving a pretty stable interview right after her Olympic FAIL. And, to the gold medalist, Dawn Harper, you didn't win. You merely got very, very lucky. Lolo had you smoked. At 26, this may be Lolo's last Olympiad. She'll be 30 for the games four years from now, and it'll be a chore for her to retain her speed as she ages. It sucks, Lolo, but I'd still hit it.
