With 2008 coming to a close, Wrigleyville23 is contractually obligated to do what all news organizations must do at the end of the year - look back at the highs, lows and mediums that befell us during the previous 12 months. Therefore, we'll take a month-by-month tour of the 17th best Cubs blog over the next 12 days (even Christmas). On to January: January 7: Rocket Sues Guy Who Stuck Things In His Bottom January 7: Phil Rogers launches his landmark plus/minus system for measuring the quality of a team's offseason. We declare it "flawless." January 8: Andre Dawson, (still) not a Hall of Famer. But getting closer. January 9: The first Brian Roberts post of the new year. It wouldn't be the last. January 12: Jim Hendry quote: "If we didn't fill right field with a left-hand hitter, I'm not sure what we would have done." January 13: A wildly popular post: Name your favorite teams in any sport. January 14: WV23 makes note of all the cheaters on the Brewers (and mixes up Doug and Bob Melvin). January 16: IAN launches The Office Quote of the Day. It was with us for quite a while. It had quite following. January 17: A Wisconsin man is arrested for tying his 7-year-old son with tape for refusing to wear a Packers jersey. Seems reasonable. January 19: Lou announces his Opening Day lineup. January 22: Albert Pujols is falsely linked to the Mitchell Report. He is not pleased. January 25: Major League Baseball finally cracks down on its biggest problem: The Vancouver Canadians' use of a letter C. January 30: The Cubs are 9-2 to win the World Series. Where did I put that ticket?
