November brought the return of Canadian Dempster, a whole lot of Jake Peavy stories and Kerry Wood leaving the Cubs. (The full WV23 Year In Review can be found here.) November 1: Cubs are 5-1 to win the 2009 World Series. November 1: WV23 doesn't believe in seeing "fundamental shifts" in the results of one World Series - especially when no shift occurred. November 5: Woo Woo is consorting with White Sox fans. November 6: A Brewers fan didn't learn his lesson from a beating. Sad. November 7: Bud Selig claims he's a Cubs fan. November 8: Columnist claims the White Sox are "America's team," thanks to the election of Barack Obama. We are doubtful. November 10: Geovany Soto is the NL Rookie of the Year, while three sportswriters don't know Edinson Volquez is not a rookie. November 12: Ted Lilly, the best free-agent pitcher signing of 2006. November 12: Richard Justice is deluded. November 12: Sweet Lou is Manager of the Year. Philly media freaks out.
