A Whiff of Baseball...

While on my way to some Mardi Gras festivities Saturday afternoon in the lovely city of Baton Rouge, my party happened across the construction of LSU's new baseball stadium. The old stadium is a classic, an institution...however, a new stadium was in the works for quite some time.

This made me think...I wasn't that great an LSU baseball fan during my time enrolled. Especially considering that the games were free for students.

Anyhow, I decided that things will change this year and Mrs. Nutsack and I, among others, would attempt to attend more games. This prompted me to search for the 2008 schedule and lo and behold, who are the Tigers' first opponents of 2008? None other than Wrigleyville's very own Indiana Hoosiers. This should be good.

10 days...only 10 24-hour periods in time we call "days" until pitchers and catchers report. I can smell the freshly cut Bermuda now. I hear it's fairly cool up in Wrigleyville's neck of the woods...just think about that baking sun in the dead of May and June. Yeah...nice, isn't it?
