Who Do You Love, 2.0: Hoosiers And Cubs

Following up on the wildly popular post on who is your favoritest team in any sport, Wrigleyville23 now presents: Who is your favoritest player in any sport? Again, the rules are as follows: Name your favorite players from any sport from any era. It's not complicated. Here are mine: 1. Peyton Manning. He brought Indy it's first professional championship (or the first since the Pacers' ABA titles in the '70s, but who counts that?). And he's the star of the greatest SNL commercial ever. 2. Ryne Sandberg. My first favorite baseball player. 3. Andre Dawson. I got in a fight in a moving car over whether Eric Show threw at him on purpose. My mom was not pleased. 4. Calbert Cheaney. Classmate at IU. Robbed of a national title or two (by a. bad officiating in the Duke Final Four game in '92 and 2. Alan Henderson's knee injury in '93). 5. Reggie Miller. Was anything more fun than those duels with the Knicks? 6. Larry Bird. I'm a white kid from Indiana who grew up in the '80s. LarryBird (as we pronounce it in Indiana) is on every white kid from Indiana who grew up in the '80s' list. 7. Anthony Thompson. A beacon of light in the crapitude that is Indiana football. 8. Antwaan Randle El. Ibid. 9. Walter Payton. Bears fan before the Colts came to town. 10. Wayne Gretzky. Had my picture taken with him when he played for the Indianapolis Racers (for about 15 minutes).
