Around The Blogs: Atlanta Braves

Unlike many baseball fans (and everyone here in the Philly area), I have no strong feelings about the Atlanta Braves. It neither excited me when they won the NL East every year nor saddened me when they crapped out in the playoffs. Chipper doesn't bother me in the least. I enjoyed watching that rotation for years. Javy Lopez was fun in his prime.

Not only that, my two trips to Turner Field were pleasant - first for Opening Day in 2002 (before going to watch Indiana lose to Maryland in the national championship game that night) and then in the playoffs in 2003 (against the Cubs). It wasn't too hot either day, and the food was fine.

In other words, the Braves are fine by me. Except this week, when I'd like to see them lose. A lot.

The good people at the Braves Journal don't seem to like Jeff Francoeur.

Rowland's Office seems to be the home to a bunch of pessimists, with recent posts titled "From bad to worse," "Our prayers have been answered" (that seems to be sarcastic), "Meltdown" and "Worst regular season loss."

Section 435 thinks the Braves may be buyers at the trade deadline to bolster the rotation.
