If you hadn't thought I was a nerd before this, you'll probably change your already sparkling perception of Mr. Nutsack almost instantaneously.

I will admit it. I love the video games. I prefer sports simulation games--like the Madden franchise and the Tiger Woods PGA Tour franchise--and war games--like the Call of Duty and Brothers in Arms franchises. But, there is not a single game that I look more forward to than the release of the year's iteration of 2K Sports' MLB 2K series.

And, today is the release date of MLB 2K8. Last year's title was a definite step-up in the series and in what is called "next generation" sports sims. The graphics were much improved, however some game mechanics like baserunning and fielding were still a bit quirky.

This year, 2K has revamped the pitching interface, now mapping it to the right analog stick. Many previews have touted this move as almost intoxicatingly fun. Baserunning and fielding have been reviewed and supposedly improved. I'm really looking forward to taking my virtual Cubs and virtual Fukudome and virtual Theriot and virtual Fontenot on through the 2007 season and ending the virtual 100 year World Series losing streak. Virtually.

So, look for "Turd Fergasen" (funny name, Turd Fergasen; by the way, I was "In a Nutsack," but the geniuses over at XBOX Live thought it was too...uh...inappropriate? Whatever that means. So, my gamertag was changed to "Turd Fergasen." I sure showed them.) to strike you out and throw at your stupid face in an XBOX Live MLB 2K8 game soon. Or, if you prefer getting shot in the stupid head on Call of Duty 4, look for me there, too. At least until Mrs. Nutsack comes home from work.

PS, please excuse the picture of Jose Reyes. He's the cover athlete...I would have chosen Ryan Theriot. Because, chicks dig him.

UPDATE 1.0: I have my copy. Bad Kermit and I will be duking it out in virtual baseball land very soon...or at least when the lag cools.
