Around The Blogs (Special Edition): Houston Astros
Written by wrigleyville

So how are Astros fans feeling about having to play at Miller Park (not to mention only managing one hit in two games)? Not good. Which is understandable enough, but they seem very, very angry. Maybe it's the lack of electricity and potable water. Maybe it's being a fan of the Astros. Whatever it is, it isn't pretty: Crawfish Boxes attributes the no-hitter to something other than Z's awesomeness: "How disheartening must it have been for the entire Houston staff to have just weathered a hurricane with their families, have to go through a logistical whirlwind of travel, and then play a game in a hostile environment in spite of MLB's claims to the contrary? I just can't help feeling that Zambrano was able to no hit the Astros because they were shell shocked." The Astros Dugout is pointing the finger of blame in the right direction: "Will be interesting to see if the guys can re-bound. If this, by the way, is a downturning point in the season, McLane best be staring at his OWN self in the mirror and asking his OWN self what did HE do to be a champion. The guy has billions. He can afford the gate loss - it’s pocket change to him. But you can’t buy a championship (ask Frank McCourt or the Wilpons) and de-railing a rolling train ain’t real too smart." Spikes n Stars is profane - and that's before the no- and one-hitter. He's very angry and in a mood to call names (I won't cut and paste here, as we're a family blog). Pity. Would I have been angry if this happened to the Cubs? Perhaps, but the sheer Al Gore-induced, end-of-the-world oddity of a hurricane striking Chicago likely would have eased my anger somewhat. Really, that would be historic, so I wouldn't mind too much if these hypothetical games had been played elsewhere.
