The official Wrigleyville23 position is we don't care who the Cubs play in the playoffs, because we believe fate will in some way punish us if we get our way when we root for team A or team B to be the opponent. It's science. But for those of you looking for some insight on what will happen on the apparent final day of the season, here are the pitching matchups: Marlins @ Mets, 1:10 p.m. Scott Olsen vs. Mets: 1-5, 4.89 ERA in 12 career starts Oliver Perez vs. Marlins: 6-3, 4.04 ERA in 15 career starts Cubs @ Brewers, 2:05 p.m. CC Sabathia vs. Cubs: 0-2, 9.00 ERA in three career starts Angel Guzman vs. Brewers: 0-0, 40.50 ERA in zero career starts (and 2/3 of an inning) At that rate, if Guzman and Sabathia both pitch complete games, the Brewers will win 40.5 to 9. And because numbers tell me that's what will happen, we're taking wagers on Brewers (-31.5) over the Cubs.
