Brewers slugger (who doesn't necessarily have that prototypical slugger physique) readily jumped to the defense of Alex Rodriguez today. Interesting.

Ryan says he was just standing up for a "friend."  Not saying they're not friends. Just interesting that a relatively new guy to the league who is probably close to 10 years A-Rod's junior and happens to play in the other league would be so friendly with an established Superstar that he feels compelled to jump into A-Rod gate.

Maybe a Miami connection behind the relationship. Or some other connection behind the relationship. Or Ryan may have just been in a talkative mood today...he seems like a naturally talkative guy.
