For those who don't live in the Washington area, you may not have heard that all bridges from the Northern Virginia suburbs into DC will be closed on Inaugration Day. That's right, no one from Virginia can get into DC that day (unless they walk over the bridges) and no one from DC can get into Virginia (we actually like this part of the deal). The public "explanation" by the Secret Service for shutting down the bridges is security concerns for President-elect Obama during inaugration activities. Once again, don't believe what you read in the newspapers. The bridges are closed because one Dusty Baker will be partaking in Inaugural activities, watching the parade at a building that a big fan of his has access to. This fan happens to live in Virginia. Hence, the need to close the bridges to protect Dusty from his fans so he can enjoy the parade in peace. Now you have the rest of the story.
