La Russa Not Happy About Losing Miles

For those of you displeased by the Mark DeRosa-Aaron Miles business, you should be pleased to know Tony La Russa isn't exactly thrilled about it, either: And La Russa was upset over the free-agent defection of infielder Aaron Miles, who signed a two-year deal with the rival Cubs. "We took a big hit with Miles," La Russa said. "I never had a teammate any better than Aaron Miles, in all of the years I've managed. This guy deserves every bit of credit, recognition, respect for his three years with us that you could give him. This guy was really good for us. It was paining for him to leave us, and he left, and that's a tough loss." So there's that. Which is nice.
