Whither Rich Hill?

Fresh off of purging all of the once-promising prospects who are out of options, the Cubs now need to shed themselves of Rich Hill's corpse.

Bruce Levine reported yesterday that three teams have inquired. Today, MLB Trade Rumors speculates on which teams might be a good fit:

Teams hoping for a Cliff Lee-type renaissance are sure to inquire. I don't have the scoop on those teams, but it's safe to say that Hill needs a smaller market and a team that can tolerate his peaks and valleys without demoting him.  My guess at the six candidates to acquire Hill: the Royals, Mariners, Padres, Pirates, Marlins, and Orioles.

I vote for the Padres - for obvious reasons; plus, maybe he could relax a bit in that huge park in San Diego. Though I would take Bobby Hill for him at this point.

Update: ACB notes that the Baltimore Sun says the Orioles are interested in (Rich) Hill. Go figure.
