A Silent Correction By SI.com
Written by wrigleyville

Ted Keith makes the following point in the middle of his Sports Illustrated story on the Cardinals trade for Matt Holliday:

Ryan Ludwick has gotten the majority of the at-bats behind Pujols this season, and is hitting a respectable .283/.341/.517 with 14 home runs and 55 RBIs. Manager Tony La Russa now has a heart of the lineup featuring three dangerous right-handed bats, with Pujols followed by Holliday and Ludwick in some order. There's not a lot of balance there, but the quality of hitters definitely makes it more difficult for opposing pitchers to navigate their way through the St. Louis lineup.

But that's not what Ted had originally written. The first version of the story (quickly corrected, apparently, though SI.com doesn't fess up to it) said the following, as noted by Chuckie Matt:

Ryan Ludwick has gotten the majority of the at-bats behind Pujols this season, and is hitting a respectable .283/.341/.517 with 14 home runs and 55 RBIs. Manager Tony La Russa could choose to keep him behind Pujols and slot Holliday in the No. 5 position to give himself a lefty-righty-lefty heart of the order.

As Matt noted, it would probably be unwise to make Pujols and Holliday bat lefty for the sake of balance. But Tony La Russa is a genius, so he could probably make it work.
