Mike Freeman Lectures Cubs, Still A Liar
Written by wrigleyville
Monday, 15 June 2009

Mike Freeman of the CBS Sports gives the Chciago Cubs  an extended lecture for signing Milton Bradley:

Typical Bradley. His signing by Chicago illustrates that even in this horrid economy, there are -- at least anecdotally -- some teams still making ridiculous signings and tossing away millions of dollars. Despite banks failing and the mortgage crisis, major league franchises can apparently still find ways to burn cash.

The Cubs gave one of the more injury prone, uber-moody jerk-faces in the sport a three-year, $30 million deal which, while not exactly A-Rod money, also isn't cab fare. Bradley's lack of production in Chicago was as predictable as the haphazard meeting of Godzilla and a Japanese city. Chicago management was arrogant and sloppy and now the franchise is paying the price.

Which is all well and good, though I'm not sure what is "arrogant" about signing an "uber-moody jerk-face"

But this also gives us this opportunity to remind you all that Mike Freeman is a liar:

Former New York Times sportswriter Mike Freeman won't be going to the Indianapolis Star after admitting he lied about a University of Delaware degree. SportsPages.com quotes Freeman: "I was at the university for four years but in fact did not graduate. This was a terrible and unforgivable manipulation of the facts and I have resigned from my newly accepted position as columnist for the Star."

So spare us the lectures, you sanctimonious twit. Oh, and why would you lie about graduating from the University of Delaware?
