The Wikipedia page for Lars Tate - the father of MLB prospect Donovan Tate - is proof that you should believe absolutely everything that is found on the Interwebs:

Lars Jamel Tate (born February 2, 1966 in Indianapolis, Indiana), is a former professional American football player who was selected by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the 2nd round of the 1978 NFL Draft.

Drafted at the age of twelve (WV - not true) Tate stood 6'2" and weighed 215 lbs. His NFL debut took place on October 5, 1978 (WV - not true; that was a Wednesday) when he rushed for a modest 302 yards (WV -not true) against the Pittsburgh Steelers (WV - not true) and their highly revered "Steel Curtain" defense. Tate followed that performance with a 106 yard effort (WV - not true) against the Baltimore Colts, which would be his last of the season (WV - not true, given that nothing else in this sentence was true), as Tate would fall victim to a Broken Family (WV - I can't seem to find anything on this).

Tate played in 23 NFL seasons (WV - not true) from 1978 to 2000 (WV - not true). Tate led the Bucs in rushing during the 1978 and 1985 seasons (WV - not true). Tate played college football for the University of Georgia and led the team in rushing during the 1987 and 1988 seasons (WV - not true). While at Georgia, Tate became known for his powerful running style, shedding blocks and running over Florida Gators. Many say his diet of bbq, cornbread and ice tea contributed to his strength and physique (WV - I can't seem to find anything on this). Tate still holds many UGA weightlifting records (WV - I'm guessing this isn't true).

If you can't believe the Wikipedia entry on Lars Tate, what in the world can you believe?
