GOODYEAR, Ariz.- After returning to the lineup Wednesday in a split-squad game against Cleveland, Milton Bradley was asked to elaborate on a statement he made to the Tribune last week, calling the media "crazy" for believing he is "crazy."

So, is the media really crazy?

"Sometimes," he said, laughing. "Not necessarily (the Chicago media) because I'm coming in here and you have to ask those questions. But people come in from out-of-town and that's what they want to ask me. I tell them, 'You came all the way here to ask me that?'" ...

He said he understands that 12 stints on the disabled list leads to questions about his brittleness. Bradley imagined Cubs fans hearing about his sore quad after one at-bat, "and it's like,  'Oh my God, here we go...' "

It's just something he's learned to deal with over the years.

"I haven't been very healthy," he said.  "I'm not happy about it. But I work as hard as I possibly can. Maybe part of it's genetic, or maybe the warm-up, or stretching, or just the way I'm built. If you look at me, I look like I'm in shape. I feel in shape. I'd be dangerous if I actually got healthy."

Bradley reflected on his past in a postgame interview, calling himself "childish" and "immature" at times.
