Reason 3,747 we love Carlos Zambrano:

Carlos Zambrano apologized to Cubs fans on Thursday for not hustling when he returns from his hamstring injury next week

It is believed to be the first time a Cubs player has actually apologized for loafing before he actually does it, though Zambrano pointed out he's only trying not to prevent another hamstring injury.

Zambrano prides himself on being a complete player, with the bat, on the mound and on the bases. 

Asked if he had to change his ways now, Zambrano replied: "For a month, yeah. I'll be running like Geo Soto or Bengie Molina. I'll be running nice and easy, just taking my time, not hustling. 

"I apologize to the Cubs fans for not being (a complete player). It's one thing to hustle and another thing to not play good. I will perform good, try to do all the things right, but in the running situation I have to take it easy, at least for a month, or until this thing is completely over. Then you'll see me running like Juan Pierre or Jose Reyes."

This should please those who criticized him for hustling in the first place. Or maybe not.
