Paul Sullivan Can't Get Bradley Off His Mind
Written by wrigleyville

MLB: Orioles v Rangers September 23, 2007

Paul Sullivan can't let it drop. From his Twitter feed:

Sori sez Byrd "totally different" than MB: “He’s a nice guy. Milton is a nice guy, too, but everyone knows what kind of problems he’s got."

Did Alfonso Soriano just volunteer his thoughts on the relative differences between Marlon Byrd and Milton Bradley? Or did someone obsessed with the former Cubs right fielder ask him about it?

(click "read more" for full article)

The latter seems more likely, given that Cubs players were already fed up with answering questions about Bradley afte rlast year. Why would Soriano arrive at camp and start comparing current and former teammates?

So let's presume Sullivan - or some other insightful reporter - brought it up. Which leaves the question: Why, exactly, would anyone ask if Marlon Byrd and Milton Bradley are anything alike? Because they both played in Texas? Because they both have the initials MB? Because they're both Americans?

Why didn't Sullivan ask Soriano to compare Byrd to Mark DeRosa? DeRosa played some outfield. DeRosa played in Texas. DeRosa's initials are MD, which rhymes with MB. Or why not Kevin Gregg? Rich Harden? They left the team after last season. Why Milton Bradley?

I just can't figure this one out.
