Trib Believes Zambrano Is A Menace To Society

The latest Tweet from Paul Sullivan:

Interviewing Big Z through a fence is always the best strategy, just in case he loses it. http://yfrog.com/3gzfencej

Because he's crazy. Get it?

While it appears Sullivan has a decent relationship with Zambrano, doesn't it seem that these repeated digs from the Cubs beat writer for the Tribune feed the popular perception of Z as some sort of lunatic who is constantly fighting with people - whether it's teammates, opponents or his manager.

He did punch Michael Barrett, but I'm eternally on his side on that one. It was Michael Barrett, after all.

Elsewhere in the clubhouse, Ted Lilly punched his manager (in Toronto). Lilly again was engaged in a bean ball war with the Braves that carried over two seasons. Derrek Lee got in a fight with Chris Young halfway up the first baseline.

Where are the Tweets about Lilly or Lee "losing it"? Instead, Lilly is called a "bulldog" who you want on the mound because he has "moxie."

Well, then. While I do like a bulldog with moxie, I'm not sure that is reason to prefer Lilly to Zambrano "when it counts," as people like to say.

Lilly's postseason performance? Five games, two starts, two losses and a 6.61 ERA.

Zambrano? Five games, five starts, two losses and a 4.34 ERA.

Certainly not stellar for Zambrano (he is a Cub after all), but let's stop sucking Lilly's popsicle, shall we?
