Cubs Fans: Best Fans In The World!

Let's catch up with the Cubs fan who savagely beat his brother-in-law at a family birthday party for ... a 2-year-old. He's going to jail for six months, after being sentenced by a judge today.

Why did he do it? Because he's a White Sox fan, of course:

(Robert) Steele, the Czaplas (Jaroslaw and Bosuslaw) and (Maciej) Trojnar were drinking alcohol and joking during the party — with Steele being teased about being a White Sox fan by the other men, all of whom are Cubs fans, officials said.

The taunts eventually grew more heated, leading to punches being thrown, then Steele being knocked to the ground, where he was kicked and hit by the others, authorities contend.

To recap: Jaroslaw Czapla is going to jail. Bosuslaw faces an April trial. And Maciej Trojnar - the third man involved in the beating - has gone all Richard Kimball on us and remains a fugitive.

But at least Jaroslaw is showing remorse, right? Well ...

Czapla offered a brief apology to (the judge) before he was sentenced. When she asked him if he wanted to apologize to Steele, Czapla looked across the courtroom at him.

“Sorry,” he said, then sat down.

Steele is now blind in one eye. I hope he has learned his lesson for being a Sox fan, thanks to the enthusiasm and passion of Maciej Trojnar and the Czapla boys.
