For the second day in a row, will somebody please wake up the copy desk at the Chicago Tribune?

"Our attendance, as we came out of the (1994) work stoppage, went up almost 1000,000 from 1997-99 because people gravitated toward how monumental that was. It was an event that was incredibly involved."

This is about the Baseball Hall of Fame. Either Dave van Dyck used an extra zero in 100,000 (most likely) or is missing a comma from 1 million (which is the proper style).

Wikipedia says the Hall gets 350,000 visitors a year, so I'm guessing he just got crazy with the zeroes.

(I just like to catalogue these little errors, thanks to the lectures about professionalism from reporters when talking about blogs.)
