As a community exercise, we will track all of the Cubs TOOTBLANs here in this forum. TOOTBLANs, of course, are any out made on the basepaths that could have otherwise been avoided (not a force out, for example) - CS, thrown out on a sac fly, caught taking an extra base - thrown out at third when a ball is hit in front of you to the SS. Etc.

Any time you see a Cubs TOOTBLAN, please enter it here in the following format:

Date: Player, opponent, inning, situation, # of outs.

As in ...

March 4: Tyler Colvin, vs OAK, bottom of second, thrown out at third on a sacrifice fly, 1 out.

Tracy thrown out at home vs. Cincinatti. 0 outs, bottom of the 6th inning.

1. Chad Tracy, 4/5 @ ATL, 5th inning, Theriot lines out to shortstop, Tracy out at first.

This doesn't count, but Milton Bradley had an Opening Day TOOTBLAN in Oakland. He was on first, another runner on third. He took off when Ben Sheets faked to third - Sheets looked back to first, noticed Bradley was gone and got him at second.

I had never seen that work before.

that was a doozy.

4/15/10 - 2nd inning vs Brewers. Soto singled to deep left center, Colvin scored, Soto out at second.

4/18/10 - 2nd inning vs Astros: Nady lined into double play shortstop to first, Ramirez out at first.

4/18/10, 6th inning: Lee reached on fielder´s choice to pitcher, Byrd out at third.

4/20/10, 5th inning: Fontenot picked off at second, catcher to shortstop.
