Wrigleyville23 was founded in Virginia on November 20, 2006 – the same day the Chicago Cubs signed Alfonso Soriano to a $136 million contract.
Since its creation, the Cubs have won two consecutive NL Central titles (and no playoff games) - followed by a second place finish. There has never been a clearer case of cause and effect.
In the last three-plus years, Wrigleyville23 has grown by three contributors and enjoys a well-earned reputation as the 17th 16th 17th best Cubs blog on Al Gore’s InterWeb. It fills the vital niche of baseball media critic, kindly antagonizer of rival fan bases and defender of the team’s best players. Most significantly, the groundbreaking statistics RTAOBP and the TOOTBLAN were invented here.
